The Reports tab contains the "Search phrase" report and the "Search usage" report.
Search phrase report
The "Search phrase" report is a list of all the search phrases that Elevate currently has stored in its memory for each market, with a maximum of 100 000 search phrases per market. It includes statistics for number of searches, hits, "no hits", purchases, conversion rate, and impacts on units for all search phrases. The table below shows what is measured and included in the search phrase report.
Measurement | Definition |
Search phrase | The search string/phrase that is analyzed. |
Searches | The number of sessions that contains a search for this phrase. |
Hits | The number of sessions where the search leads to a non-empty result. |
No hits | The number of sessions where the search always leads to an empty search result. |
Purchases | The number of purchases that can be traced back to the search phrase (if it all happens during the same session). |
Conversion rate | The ratio of how often the phrase actually leads to a purchase. The conversion rate is calculated as purchases divided by the number of searches. |
Impact | The impact the phrase has on the overall search conversion rate, expressed as percentage points*. |
*A high positive figure means that the phrase is a significant contributor to the aggregated search conversion rate. It’s a net contributor to search conversion rate.
*A high negative figure means that the search phrase is used a lot but converts lower than the aggregated average. It’s a net detractor to the search conversion rate.
All statistics are shown within a selected time interval, per market. You can easily change the market.
You can also easily add synonyms for a search phrase directly from the search results list. This is especially useful for search phrases that give no hits.
Export the report
You can export and download a "Search phrase" report as a CSV file from the menu in the top right corner. Select the time period and the data you want to export. You can select multiple markets.
Search usage report
The "Search usage" report includes more detailed statistics for search, general and detailed facet usage, and sort order usage and changes. It requires the use of the origin
parameter in Search Page queries.
Recommendation report
Elevate's Recommendation Report helps you understand how your product recommendations are performing. You can see clicks, add‑to‑carts, purchases, and conversion rates broken down by recommendation type (for example, Alternatives, Top products, Upsell, and more).
Accessing the Report
- In the Elevate dashboard, open the Experience menu.
- Select Reports > Recommendations.
- Use the date picker (e.g. Monthly, By week, or custom range) to choose the period to review.
Report layout
The report displays one row for each recommendation type, followed by summary metrics for that type:
Metric | Description |
Responses | Number of times Elevate returned a recommendation list (excluding empty responses and non‑bounce sessions). |
Clicks | Number of times users clicked on a product in recommendations. |
Add to carts | Number of add to carts attributed to the recommendation list. |
Purchases | Number of purchases attributed to the recommendation list. |
Add to Cart Rate | Percentage of clicks that resulted in an add‑to‑cart. |
Conversion rate | Percentage of clicks that resulted in a purchase. |
Attribution
When a user purchases a product, Elevate credits the recommendation list that first led to a click on that product during the same session.
- If the user clicks the same product in multiple lists, only the first list receives credit.
- If the first click on a purchased product comes from a search result (not a recommendation), no recommendation list receives purchase credit.
