This feature allows you to publish selected content and settings, from one or more pages, to all pages with the same page ID across multiple markets. As a result, it also enables the publication of pages to markets where they do not yet exist.
The pages will always be published under the same ID, across all markets. This ID, rather than the path, will serve as the linking element between the pages.
How to enable the feature
An admin must grant the necessary permissions to the desired user or users for the right to perform a multi-market publish in the application. Here's how permission is granted:
- Navigate to the Admin tab in the application to edit the desired user
- Click on Experience where you’ll find the setting for multi-market publish
- Enable the setting and hit Save
- Refresh the page to see the multi-market publish feature in the Category & Landing pages
How to use the feature
- A multi-market publish can be accessed in two ways from the Category & Landing pages.
- Hover over the desired page, click the More button, and select Publish to multiple markets.
- Select the pages to publish, press Selected pages then Publish to multiple markets.
- In the Publish dialog, select the markets you want to publish in and press Continue
- Select the content and settings you wish to publish and proceed to the next step.
A yellow dot indicates that changes have been made in the current market since the last publish. Read more in the "Content and settings" section below. - Now complete the process by pressing Publish. Ensure the checkbox is selected if the desired outcome is to create new pages in markets where corresponding pages are missing
An edit conflict can happen if someone else has the same page open. You will be notified of this. You can either contact the person or team who is currently editing the content, or decide to overwrite their changes and proceed with the publish. You will also be notified if any unpublished changes exist for the pages on the source. If you press Cancel no pages will be published.
You can choose to publish content that has not changed, this will overwrite the content in the destination.
You can choose not to publish content that has change, this will make the source page still marked with "The page has unpublished pending changes". This is because those changes that were not published are still available for publication in source.
