The Personalization Report shows how in-session personalization impacts your site by highlighting how personalized ranking contributes to clicks, add-to-carts, and purchases across Search and Navigation.
It helps you understand:
- How often personalization is applied
- How much it contributes to engagement and conversion
- Where it performs best in the customer journey

How to access the report
Go to:
Experience → Reports → Personalization Report
At the top of the report, you will find:
- A time selector
- Three tabs: Overview, Navigation, and Search
Overview tab
The Overview tab gives you a high-level summary of personalization performance across your site.
It answers:
Is personalization working, and where does it create the most impact?
Scale
Shows how often personalization is applied:
- Navigation Personalization – percentage of navigation views using personalization
- Search Personalization – percentage of searches using personalization
This indicates the overall exposure of personalization.
Engagement & Contribution
Shows how much personalization contributes to key outcomes:
- Clicks Contribution
- Add to Cart Contribution
- Purchases Contribution
Each metric represents the share of total outcomes influenced by personalized ranking.
Add to Cart Breakdown
Shows how add-to-cart actions are distributed between:
- Navigation
- Search
Why Add to Cart?
Add to cart is a strong signal of engagement, especially in exploratory journeys where users compare products before purchasing.
Navigation tab
The Navigation tab focuses on category and landing page performance.
Navigation Contribution
Includes:
- Navigation Views Contribution
- Clicks Contribution
- Add to Cart Contribution
- Purchases Contribution
These metrics show how much personalized navigation contributes to overall results.
The navigation funnel
Visualizes the user journey:
View → Click → Add to Cart → Purchase
Use this to understand where personalization has the most impact in the navigation flow.
Navigation Efficiency
Shows conversion rates:
- Click Rate
- Add to Cart Rate
- Purchase Rate
- Conversion Rate
These numbers help evaluate the quality of traffic driven by personalized navigation.
Search tab
The Search tab provides the same structure for search performance.
Search Contribution
Includes:
- Searches Contribution
- Clicks Contribution
- Add to Cart Contribution
- Purchases Contribution
Search funnel
Visualizes the search journey:
Search → Click → Add to Cart → Purchase
Search Efficiency
Shows:
- Click Rate
- Add to Cart Rate
- Purchase Rate
- Conversion Rate
How to interpret the report
- Personalization is most effective in exploratory journeys (e.g. browsing categories)
- It has less impact in high-intent searches where users already know what they want
- Contribution metrics show impact, not comparison (this is not an A/B test)
When to investigate further
Use the report to identify:
- Low personalization usage (Scale)
- High usage but low contribution (limited impact)
- Differences between Navigation and Search performance
