What are responses?
A response is how many times a recommendation has been requested. Elevate does not know if the recommendations were actually displayed on the site.
If Elevate returns an empty recommendation list, it will not count as a response (Note: this behavior changed as of April 2025, older data still count empty lists).
We only count responses for non-bounce Elevate sessions.
How does purchase tracing work?
For each purchased product, we trace back to the first time it was clicked during the current session.
- If the product is clicked in multiple recommendation lists, only the first list where it was clicked will receive credit.
- If the product is clicked first in a search result and then in a recommendation list, the recommendation will not receive credit for the purchase.
What is the Add to cart rate?
Add to cart rate = (Product added to cart from recommendations / Clicks on recommendations) × 100
What is the conversion rate?
Conversion rate = (Purchases from recommendations / Clicks on recommendations) × 100
Why aren't all algorithms shown?
If an algorithm has no recorded user interaction (i.e. clicks, add to carts, or purchases), it will not be shown in the table.
