The Search phrase and Search usage reports in Voyado Product Discovery show how shoppers search on your site and how those searches perform. The Search phrase report lists the phrases shoppers search for, with statistics such as hits, no hits, clicks, and purchases. The Search usage report gives more detailed statistics on search, facet usage, and sort order usage. Use them to find popular phrases, spot searches that give no hits, and see how search contributes to conversion.

The Search phrase report is a list of all the search phrases that are currently stored for each market, with a maximum of 100,000 search phrases per market. It includes statistics for number of searches, hits, "no hits", clicks, add-to-cart, purchases, conversion rate, and impacts on units for all search phrases. The table below shows what is measured and included in the search phrase report.
| Measurement | Definition |
|---|---|
| Search phrase | The search string/phrase that is analyzed. |
| Searches | The number of sessions that contain a search for this phrase. |
| Hits | The number of sessions where the search leads to a non-empty result. |
| No hits | The number of sessions where the search always leads to an empty search result. |
| Clicks | The number of clicks that can be traced back to the search phrase (if it all happens during the same session). |
| Add-to-cart | The number of add-to-cart actions that can be traced back to the search phrase (if it all happens during the same session). |
| Purchases | The number of purchases that can be traced back to the search phrase (if it all happens during the same session). |
| Conversion rate | The ratio of how often the phrase actually leads to a purchase. The conversion rate is calculated as purchases divided by the number of searches. |
| Impact | The impact the phrase has on the overall search conversion rate, expressed as percentage points*. |
*A high positive figure means that the phrase is a significant contributor to the aggregated search conversion rate. It’s a net contributor to search conversion rate.
